"The Fire of 1913" Mike Blythe

On September 5, 1913, a simple residential fire progressed to a full-blown catastrophe as half of Hot Springs went up in flames. This Garland County Historical Society-sponsored program explores the causes, the scale, and the consequences of the most devastating fire to ever strike an Arkansas city.

Guest presenter Mike Blythe is the author of Then & Now: Hot Springs, Arkansas. He is also a contributor to The Record, the journal of the Garland County Historical Society, where he is a longtime volunteer. A forty-four-year resident of Hot Springs, he is retired from the Entergy Corporation.
