What are some of the things our volunteers do?
Greet visitors and assist with their needs.
File, make copies, and answer the telephone – and all those little things that keep an office working.
Enter data. It’s really easy to work with our museum software (that’s why we bought it!). It’s fun to see our database grow as you enter information with this very user-friendly program. GCHS also uses Word and Excel. If you can type, you can easily handle our data entry processes.
Scan historical photos.
Help to research requests for information. We’ll show you how! This is a great way to learn fascinating things about our area.

Don’t know much (or anything) about Garland County history? Not a problem! All you need for a rewarding volunteer experience is your willingness to help.
Haven’t met us in person? Also not a problem! Just come on by and visit us at 328 Quapaw. We’re here 9am to 1pm Monday through Friday and would love to give you the grand tour.
